Fully crewed gulet charters on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast

A week at sea for families and groups of friends, sailing from Bodrum and Marmaris.

Salt & Lateen arranges fully crewed gulet charters in Turkey, from our base in Poole, England. Our background is in yacht construction and gulet building. We began 15 years ago with cabin charters and have grown, gradually, into fully crewed luxury charters. Today we arrange one kind of holiday in one country: a gulet with her own crew, for your group alone, for a week.

The right gulet for the people you are bringing

Each gulet here sails with her own crew from her home port on the coast. They differ in the ways that matter to a group: how many cabins she has, how many guests she takes, and how large a crew looks after them. Because we come from gulet building, we look past the pictures to when she was built, when she was last refitted, and how her space works for the people sharing it. Beyond the gulets shown here, we can source from more than 200 yachts in Turkey through the owners and crews we work with.

A coast you can explore in a week from port

Turkey’s southwest coast breaks into deep gulfs and peninsulas, with pine running down to the water and anchorages spaced for an easy day under way. A week covers one stretch of it properly, rather than several in a hurry.

  1. Bodrum and the Gulf of Gökova

The long gulf east of the Bodrum peninsula, with Orak Island and Çökertme on its northern shore and the Seven Islands, English Harbour and Sedir Island to the south. Start from Bodrum; fly into Milas–Bodrum Airport.

  2. Marmaris and the Bozburun peninsula

Small gulfs and harbour villages (Bozburun, Selimiye, Söğüt, Bozukkale), with the Hisarönü Gulf on the peninsula’s western side. Start from Marmaris; fly into Dalaman Airport.

  3. Göcek and the Gulf of Fethiye

Further east, a gulf scattered with islands, usually sailed from Göcek or Fethiye. Fly into Dalaman Airport.

Arranged by people who know how a gulet is built

Salt & Lateen is led by Sam Sozen, our CEO. We came to chartering from yacht construction and gulet building, and we have spent 15 years in charter: first cabin charters, now fully crewed weeks for one group at a time. That background shapes the yachts we put forward and the questions we ask about them.

From first message to first night aboard

  1. 1

Tell us where you would like to sail, when, how many of you there are, your budget and the occasion.

  2. 2

We reply within six hours. We then send the gulets we would put forward, each with her weekly rate, what is added to it, and why she suits your group.

  3. 3

When you choose, we confirm the week with the yacht’s owner or manager and send the charter agreement. Signing it and paying the deposit holds your week.

  4. 4

Before you arrive, we pass your group’s wishes to the captain. We remain your contact from booking until you step ashore at the end of the week.

Answers before you write

What does the weekly rate cover?
The rate charters the gulet and her crew for the week. VAT and running expenses are added. Each yacht’s page shows what is known for her, and your quote confirms the figures. Rates run from the quieter months at the lower figure to the summer peak at the higher.
Do we need to know how to sail?
No. The captain and crew sail the gulet. Your group decides how the days are spent.
When should we go?
The season runs from May to October. June and September pair warm water with quieter anchorages; July and August are the hottest and busiest weeks.
